The Together 4 Teens Breakfast
The Together 4 Teens breakfast event took place at the Mellwood Art Center in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday, March 20th. President of Streetmoda.com, Matt Kubancik, Vice President, Erika Boyle and staff attended the breakfast and were recognized for the company’s commitment to Safe Place.
Safe place opens their doors to teens that have been abused, neglected, have issues at home that are beyond their control or feel that there is nowhere they belong. Each year, teens use Safe Place as their first step to beginning a new life.
The event attracted attendees from all over the city of Louisville, business owners, mentors, small organizations, and all people that cared about the growth of Safe Place. Safe Place teen graduates spoke on their life experiences and how the organization changed the path of their life. These stories were heartbreaking and hit the guests emotionally. Many people write off children that come from broken homes and children of incarcerated parents.
Miss America 2012, Laura Kaeppeler, graced the breakfast with her personal story. Kaeppeler was 17, when her father was sent to prison for mail fraud and had to spend a year behind bars. Following the breakfast Laura spoke to children at the YMCA SafePlace, encouraging teens to be all you be in life. Matt Kubancik, the president of StreetModa .com was also at the following event, there he presented Miss America with two stylish pairs of Naughty Monkey Shoes.
This event brought the community closer for a cause, keeping our children safe as a community. As the old saying goes, “ It takes a village to raise a child.” Streetmoda.com plays a major role in this community and will continue to help make a difference in lives. When you purchase from Streetmoda.com you are not only purchasing great merchandise, but also your doing your part to help support the Safe Place.

From Devastation to Celebration
On Saturday, March 10th the Paul Mitchell School of Louisville was filled with excited young ladies ready for prom. The 3rd Annual Magical Moments event, brought to you by Red Carpet Events (www.redcarpetideas.com),was in full effect to provide free prom dresses, accessories, hand bags and designer shoes provided by Streetmoda.com, to young ladies in the community.
As we all know prom is a special event and time for any teenage girl, selecting the right prom dress is one of the highlights of the big day! With the economy being down, the typical parent of a high school student may not be able to afford a prom dress and all the extravagant expenses that tag along with it.
Not only do the ladies receive free dresses but are provided a full makeover which includes, hair and make-up. Community leaders also donate their time to speak on topics such as education, life skills, health and fitness.
This year’s event was extended to include students that were affectedby the devastating tornado storm that wiped out Henryville, Indiana. To bring positivity to the community and teens they made a decision to move forward with their high school prom. The prom at least gives these students something to look forward to after this tragic storm.
Henryville student, Jennifer Chapman attended the 3rd Annual Magical Moments event, “It’s going to be really emotional for me, because I’m going to be going to prom for a school that’s not even there anymore and I think that if we can, you know, get prom still, I think it’s going to be awesome to show that it hasn’t gotten the best of us,” said Chapman.
Jennifer found the perfect custom dress, designer shoes and luxury earrings to match. She also received the full makeover and won the grand prize ofher very own prom party!
It is so amazing when things come in full circle for the good of those in need. Many may not know but community leaders; businesses and volunteers play major roles in continuing the growth of these life-changingevents.
